Patrick Walsh is President, Chief Operating Officer, and sits on the Board of Directors at Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications. In his role, Walsh leads the company’s radio division which is one the country’s largest radio groups. Walsh also oversees Emmis Digital, social impact marketing firm Incite and supports its city/regional magazine publishing operations. Walsh sits on the Emmis Board of Directors (NASDAQ: EMMS) and is also a Director and member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Broadcasters, and Director of Radio Advertising Bureau, Radio Music License Committee, Indianapolis 500 Festival and the Center for Leadership Development. Walsh also sits on the Alumni Board of Governors at the Ross School of Business Administration at the University of Michigan. Walsh began his tenure at Emmis as Chief Financial Officer in 2006 before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer in late 2008.
Prior to joining Emmis, Walsh was Chief Financial Officer at iBiquity Digital, the developer and licenser of HD Radio technology. Walsh was instrumental in financing this high technology company and assisting in the build out of the company’s intellectual property licensing business.
Earlier in his career, Walsh was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, one of the world’s top management consulting firms, serving many of the world’s leading financial institutions, technology firms, automakers and energy companies in a variety of CEO agenda projects. His previous management experience includes positions at General Motors and Deloitte.
Walsh earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and finance from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Walsh is a Certified Public Accountant.
Walsh resides in suburban Indianapolis with his wife Jacqueline and teenage sons Theron and Liam.
